Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. Symptoms vary, because the location and severity of each attack can be different. Episodes can last for days, weeks, or months. These episodes alternate with periods of reduced or no symptoms. While there are therapies that may slow the disease, there are no known cures and the disease may continue to get worse without periods of remission.

The nature of Multiple Sclerosis makes it extraordinarily difficult for victims and their loved ones on a variety of levels: physical, emotional and financial. At Jones Elder Law, we understand what the victims of MS are going through, and are dedicated to easing the physical, emotional and financial burden on those suffering from the disease and the people who love them.

If you or a loved one is in the early stages of MS, we can show you a number of ways to prepare for future financial and healthcare needs. We can design a plan capable of providing the best possible level of care, together with the protection of hard-earned family assets. We can also help with the application for and procurement of government assistance such as Medicaid and/or Veterans Benefits.

In addition, we can utilize tools such as caregiver agreements and irrevocable trusts that can allow you or a loved one diagnosed with MS to protect hard-earned assets while maintaining comfort and quality of life—without jeopardizing eligibility for critical government benefits.

If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, please contact us immediately to learn how we can help.
