Local Attorney Interviewed on National Television Show Ask The Lawyer

Attorney Stephen Jones, Founder and Principal of Jones Elder Law, has recently appeared on the national television show Ask the Lawyer. Jones was the featured guest on two of the show’s half-hour segments, one of which focused on Elder Law, the other on Veterans and Special Needs Benefits Planning.

“We chose Stephen to appear on the show because of his extensive experience in these specialized and increasingly important areas of the law, as well as his ability to convey complicated legal issues in a clear, easy to understand manner,” says Patti Gribow, host of Ask the Lawyer.

During his interviews on the show, Jones discussed topics such as the importance of planning for long-term care, protecting assets against the high cost of such care, how to apply and qualify for assistance from sources like Medicaid and the Veterans Administration, and other related issues. “One of the greatest problems facing seniors and their loved ones today is ensuring an adequate level of care without going broke in the process,” says Jones. “Many families are not aware of the options available to them, or do not seek help until they are faced with a crisis situation. This is why I welcomed the opportunity to appear on Ask the Lawyer and inform the public about what proper planning can help them accomplish.”

Founded in 2009, Jones Elder Law serves the special needs of aged clients. Jones started the firm after helping to care for his ailing grandmother, who died on December 27, 2008 after suffering from congestive heart failure. After experiencing first-hand the frustration that comes from dealing with a variety of issues that individuals face as they age, he decided to start the firm to ease the process for other families. Besides Medicaid planning, Jones Elder Law handles wills, trusts, probate, veterans benefits and guardianship issues. Another invaluable service available is unbiased assistance with how to find a quality nursing home and how to arrange to pay for the cost of the long-term care.
